The home, created to welcome the beggars after the World War II, has become a mother and general house – a driving force for the life of the Congregation of the Oblate Sisters of St. Benedict Joseph Labre. It symbolically represents the foundation stone of the Opera commissioned by Fr. Ambrogio, from which the ideals that animated his life still spring up. The Oblates are called to carry out their mission as mothers, sisters and friends of the poor, lending their service to the territory in many forms, and to experience in direct contact with them the spiritual and apostolic needs of their vocation, and to transmit it in full, with generosity, genuineness and joy.
